Ingredients:
SPREAD
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 4 tbsp pickle relish, drained
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp yellow mustard, optional
PATTIES
- 1 pound 80/20 ground beef
- 2 tbsp Carrington Farms Organic Milled Flax Seeds
- 2 tbsp warm water
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp everything seasoning
- 1 ½ tsp smoked paprika
- 4 white cheddar cheese slices
- Carrington Farms Coconut Oil Cooking Spray for cooking
CARAMELIZED ONIONS
- 1 large yellow onion, cut into thick circular slices
- salt, to taste
- brown sugar, to taste
- Carrington Farms Organic Ghee
Directions:
- MAKE THE SPREAD: In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, relish, ketchup, sugar, and vinegar. It will be a pink color. Set aside.
- PREPARE THE PATTIES: Combine Carrington Farms Organic Milled Flax Seeds with warm water and set aside for 1 minute. Mix ground beef with all spices and add in the milled flax mixture. Weigh out 4 portions of ground beef. Gently flatten the patty into a circle to desired thin or thickness and set aside.
- MAKE CARAMELIZED ONION BUNS: In a large pan or flat grill over medium to medium-low heat, add Carrington Farms Organic Ghee. Once hot, add the thickly cut onions and sprinkle with sugar and salt. Cook for a few minutes until you see the edges turn golden. Flip over gently and caramelize the other side, right before you take them off the grill.
- COOK AND ASSEMBLE THE BURGER: Over medium-high heat on the grill or in a skillet, use Carrington Farms Coconut Oil Cooking Spray. Add the patties in and cook for about 2-3 minutes for the patty to get a nice brown crust. Flip over and add a slice of cheese on top of the patties. Let it cook for about 1 more minute. Transfer 2 burger patties on top of a grilled onion and add a grilled onion on top as the “bun”.
- Serve with the spread to enjoy warm!
