Brown or golden flax, is one better than the other?

Golden and brown flax both contain the same nutritional benefits in terms of omega-3 fatty acids, lignans, protein and dietary fiber. It’s a matter of choice but rest assured that you can substitute Brown for golden and vice versa without sacrificing any of the natural goodness in flax seed.

What is in Carrington Farms Milled Flax Seed that’s so good for me?

Good fats, great-tasting fiber, lots of lignans! Flax is one of the highest plant sources of omega-3 fat, alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) & lignans. And every ounce (about 3 Tbsp.) of milled Flax delivers more than 30% of your recommended daily fiber intake.

Is milled flax safe for whole family?

Flax is a natural plant source of vital nutrition and is considered safe for healthy people of all age groups. However, we suggest introducing milled flax into diets gradually, and it is always wise to consult a health care professional before adding milled flax to your diet if you have any health concerns.

What is the best way to store Carrington Farms Milled Flax Seed?

Unopened milled flax seed can be stored in a cool dry place, once it is opened it is best stored refrigerated in our resealable pouch or an opaque container. Because milled flax seed flows readily even when frozen, many users choose to store ground flaxseed in the freezer!

Does Carrington Farms Milled Flax Seed really go bad?

Flax products do go rancid, and we always advise not using after the expiration date on the package.  If the flax has a sour odor or bitter taste it is a sign you should discard the flax seed.
