Carrington Farm’s Organic Ghee is a great alternative to unsalted butter!

  • GREAT FLAVOR – We start by heating organic butter from grass-fed cows until the water is removed and the milk solids and lactose are browned and settled to the bottom. These browned solids are then removed to produce the buttery, nutty & delicious butterfat known as ghee!
  • WHY GHEE? Ghee is a source of fat-soluble vitamins and fatty acids that support immune function, bone health and vision.
  • MEDIUM-HIGH HEAT COOKING – With Ghee, also known as clarified butter, you can cook over medium-high heat up to 450° F for a delightful buttery flavor and aroma, without it smoking and burning like butter.
  • NO REFRIGERATION Ghee does not need to be refrigerated; it can be stored at room temperature.

Carrington Farms Organic Ghee is traditionally made and stays creamy (semi solid) at room temperature. Traditionally made ghee’s texture can vary and be solid, creamy, grainy, or liquid with fluctuations in temperature. Traditionally made ghee can also be any combination of those textures at one time, for instance it may be both liquid and gritty at the same time. Whether it is liquid or solid it is always delicious but, if you want to change the texture of your ghee visit the FAQ Tab.!

If your ghee has liquified too much for your liking you can return it to its semi-solid state by following these simple steps.

    • Gently heat the ghee so that it is completely liquified. You can do this in a hot water bath or by quickly microwaving (30 second intervals) and stirring it.
    • Place in the refrigerator for 24 hours.

My Ghee is gritty or liquid. Is this Normal?

How can I change the texture so that it is creamy or solid?

Gently heat the ghee so that it is completely liquified. You can do this in a hot water bath or by quickly microwaving at 50% power in 30 second intervals stirring in between. For a more creamy (semi solid ghee) after melting the ghee to a liquid, let the ghee sit at room temperature for 24 hours. For a more solid ghee after melting the ghee to a liquid, place in the refrigerator for 24 hours. Do not place it in the freezer after melting.

    Does Ghee taste like butter?

Ghee has a nuttier, richer taste than butter because the milk solids that would normally tone down the buttery flavor have been removed.
